Sad to only read this news today, three years on. Tom saw more in me than I ever did in myself, up to the point when I first met him in Oxford. He inspired me as a young man with stories of his travels, and made me aware of the importance of accumulating knowledge, making plans and adjusting them until the desired outcome was achieved, and also taught me when to cut loose on a lost cause! As the years have gone by, I still find myself reflecting on what he used to say. He believed in me, and for that and much more, I will never forget him. Rest In Peace, Tom.
